Erie, PA — Dave Ridge emerged as the front runner on Election Night after securing both the Democratic and Republican nomination for Erie County Court of Common Pleas. Ridge led the Democratic ticket with 12,148 votes and the Republican ticket with 9,589 votes.
“I am truly honored and very humbled,” said Ridge to a crowd of supporters at the campaign headquarters on State Street in Erie. “Your support also comes with great responsibility, which you have given me and I will honor through hard work and integrity.”
An Erie native and graduate of Cathedral Prep and Allegheny College, Dave Ridge has been in private practice for more than 33 years, after having worked in the office of the Allegheny County District Attorney while attending the University of Pittsburgh Law School. As a trial attorney, Ridge has been admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, the United States District Court Bar, the Third Circuit Court of appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has handled both criminal and civil cases and he has represented individuals, charitable organizations and corporations. He serves as general counsel for the Barber National Institute and the Ridge Policy Group.
Ridge has also been active in the legal community serving on the board of the Erie County Bar Association and as a member of the PA Trial Lawyers Association. He is a senior member and past chair of a Disciplinary Board of Pennsylvania Hearing Committee. He has served as a guest lecturer at a number of local schools and universities and has led continuing education seminars sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
“We will continue to run a good, down-to-earth, hardworking campaign with integrity,” said Ridge. “That’s what Erie County deserves — they deserve a judge willing to get to know them and to be accessible.”
Though Ridge joked he may take a brief break, it was clear throughout the evening that he and his team are ready and willing to continue working hard to earn the votes of Erie County residents. The team will continue attending community events throughout the summer and will maintain the campaign headquarters through the General Election on Tuesday, November 5th.
